Quite possibly the worst box art ever?

I know that at the end of the day, the picture on the box doesn't mean squat when it comes to the game on the inside. But man alive these are horrible.

What no doubt took 10 seconds to make, these boxes will stand out only because of the absense of time spent on making them look interesting. I've looked around and can't find anywhere that these aren't the final versions either.

Click the pics to get a better look.

I say this with all sincerity, whoever did this should be ashamed of themselves.

(this is just my opinion, not trollin or anything)

i dont think its so bad.

half-life is an established brand in video gaming, its huge, and relatively well known. they dont need explosions and aliens on the cover to sell it. their not banking on the crowd that sits around staring at that shiny thing in the road all day.

i think their intention for these covers were to represent the brand through the 'tear' shaped icon/logo, and clear representation of what is included to clear up any confusion as to what it is.

for a consumer thats not in the 'know' about half life, this design clearly lets them know this isnt the original version of half life 2, just an expansion or whatever this is considered.

for everyone else whos into it, who cares what the cover is like, you know whats inside, it can have goatsy on the cover and i'll still buy it for portal and team fortress 2.

agreed, but they could have at least used some sort of fancy text. This just looks amateur to me!

Anything that would have made the boxes worth having would have been nice, really. This is one of the few situations where I wouldn't care about having the game box or not. It's simply not interesting.

Well they are calling it the Orange edition, or something like that, but I still have a hard time believing this is legit.

I REFUSE to believe that Valve would let this fly. I mean, they're innovators for sure, but this is ridiculous. The games aren't even in any kind of logical order in the list. They couldn't even slap the h2 logo on it?

The person who put these out should be drug through the streets. I understand that HL is an established brand, but there are still people who don't know what it is.
