I just caught wind of the fact that Amplitude's online servers are going to be taken off-line next Monday (the 26th). For a game that came out 4 years ago and sold "Mouse Nuts" accoring to Harmonix's CEO, I guess I shouldn't be suprised. Though it does make me a little sad. I played this game online more than any other game, and in my prime I was usually ranked in the top 10 (highest being 3) out of the few thousand players that it would track. I'm actually pretty proud of it, though I have no proof and it's a game no one's heard of. But whatever, I'm still proud. Anyways, Harmonix and crew are organizing one final get-together on Sunday night at 7pm EST. If you've got the game, why not take one last spin on the Amplitude servers? We'll get a few songs in and download a bunch of remixes. It'll be fun, and you can bet you'll see me there. And even if you don't play, what's your opinion of these servers being shut-down? There's a part of the game that will never work again now. And if you discover the game anytime after Monday, there's no way to enjoy it to it's fullest potential. Do you think this will eventually become a problem with alot of other games? [Joystiq]
