I just got back from a side trip to Best Buy to pick up Professor Layton and the Curious Villiage (so much for me deciding not to buy any new games for a few weeks), and while I was there saw numerous boxes of a stand alone drum kit for Rock Band. Clocking in at the "not-very cheap" 80 bucks, this'll be a tough one to swallow if you break your kit and need to buy a new one.

No spare guitars though, at least not yet.... but my guess is that they'll be popping up any day now.

GameStop's website lists the guitar controllers (both wireless for the 360 and PS3) as having release dates of April 1, 2008.

Also, I got a kick out of one of the "previews" written by some guy regarding the 360 guitar:

"this gutar is sweet so what if the wamie sucks wamieing is for fags the buttons are the best on any gutar the sturm is allright but the good thing about it is it dos not make that fucking noise so you can hear the music for once
any other gutar sucks compard to this one"

Good stuff. I guess I'll stop "wamieing," lest I be mistaken as homosexual.

[...] While strolling through the aisles at their local Best Buy the folks at Bits Bytes Pixels Sprites stumbled upon the first signs of Rock Band instruments, not including the microphone, being sold separately. Pricing in at $79.99, the drums are the first stand alone instruments we’ve seen at retail and confirm reports that all the instruments would make it out around the end of February. [...]
