Rock Band for Wii: Packaging Error or Breaking News?

This one was circling the interwebs late last night, and I found it too titillating not to share. Now that some of the long-awaited Rock Band accessories are starting to hit store shelves there's an interesting tidbit on the packaging that raises a question: is Rock Band coming to the Wii?

Rock Band for Wii: Packaging Error or Accidental Slip?

As you can see from the picture above, the packaging for the Rock Band microphone clearly states that it's available for the Playstation 3, Wii, and Xbox 360. At first you might think it's just a big slip up, but as you can see from the pic below other parts of the packaging mention it and even feature a picture of the console;

That being said, there are a couple of things that do seem to scream that this packaging was done by former/current short-bus/ESL students. First up is the use of the word "FOUR" instead of "FOR." Pretty basic grammar, and they get it right everywhere else on the packaging. Also -- the Playstation 2 isn't mentioned at all! Now I could be wrong on this, but if the mic works for every other system wouldn't the same go for the PS2? If anyone out there has the PS2 version of Rock Band and can correct me on this (you guys are using a USB connection too, right?) it would be greatly appreciated.

So we have a few possibilities here -- either A) they're working on a Wii version, which considering the success of this title is entirely possible, or B) the monkeys that assembled and proof-read the packaging took a stab in the dark on what three systems this was on and got it wrong. What say you, EA/Harmonix/our dear readers?

Taking a wild guess, but I'd say it was a photoshop, seeing as PS2 isn't mentioned on there. They could have just replaced the bit where it says Playstation 2 and replaced it with Wii, which could also explain the picture of the Wii as there would be space for it if they got rid of the PS2

I'd be inclined to agree with you, but I've also seen the press kit photo of the packaging and it shows the same thing.

Sounds like somebody just screwed up, although I would LOVE for Rock Band to make it's way to the Wii!

Fake. They just substituted "Wii" for "PS2".

That's the marketing department at its finest, IMO.

"Hey, what consoles is this thing for?"
"Ummm, I dunno, but it's USB."
"So, 360, PS3... doesn't the Wii have a USB port?"
"I think so."
"Good. We'll put 'Wii' on the packaging so we can dupe ignorant consumers into thinking it'll work on the Wii."
"Brilliant!"
