Secret area on UK Wii Virtual Console revealed!

mario1-warp-1d.jpgLook like owners of the Wii in the UK have a little extra something for them waiting in the Virtual Console. Reports are starting to surface that there's a "secret" area that will house facts and trivia about all things Nintendo. Starting with a look back at Kirby.

Seems there's a little smiley face on the VC menu page, and if you click it, you get this message:

"Welcome to the Warp Zone! ... Congratulations, you've discovered the Virtual Console's hidden area. This is your secret doorway into another dimension; a portal into the past, if you will."

If you live in the EU, and you own a Wii, give this a try and tell us what you find!

Oh so they finally named it then? Previously (read before Christmas and shortly into January) there was an item in the VC front screen that was just titled ".". If you clicked on it, a new page opened up similar to "Warp Zone" that just mentioned it was a secret area to be discovered by the curious and that clicking on the page title in the top left corner would take you back to the channel's front page.

I just tried it, I got an announcement about OoT coming to the VC this monday. Below that it gives a little details about it, and then some different facts about Ocarina which include -

- The pictures of Mario, Yoshi etc in the courtyard when you first meet Zelda.
- Some ocarina songs feature as Howling tunes in Twilight Princess.
- Don't his cuckoos.
- Malon wears a broach shaped like Bowser.

Quite a nice little find. I have a feeling it will be updated in regards to the big games coming out, either that or just on random games.

Yep, just tried it myself.
If anyone is struggling to find it, it is at the bottom of the news articles, not actually in the Wii shop menu!!!
