sonic-5.jpgFrom one of my favorite sites, Racketboy, comes the detailed account of Sonic's quick rise to stardom and his slow painful slide into crap.

I don't want to write too much about it, cause it might spoil an otherwise enjoyable read. Suffice to say I used to love Sonic 1 on the Genesis. But I think you'd be hard pressed to find a fan on the 1st game that still enjoys the Sonic games. Hell does anyone buy these anymore? What about the just released 360 version? Sega spent way to many years relaxing and banking on Sonic to sell itself.

An Excellent look back at a companies desecretion of it's mascot:

In Sonic's defense, the 2D games that come out on the GBA and DS are just as good as the oldies - if not better. It's all of the 3D nonsense and spinoffs that turns stomachs.

Shadow the Hedgehog was cool, but the levels were too tricky. and a floating EYE!? eww. The 3-D was fine, but yeah, the camera was really annoying.Sonic isn't ruined, It's just that kids and adult gamers have different intrests than back then.
