Sony Adds Colors to the PSP Rainbow

colorpsp Have you ever wondered why Sony doesn't make a PSP for each color of the Power Rangers? No? Me neither. But here they are (except for pink! What gives, Sony?). Keep in mind that these hardware editions are only being released in Japan.

The red and blue PSPs will hit stores on March 5, with the yellow and green editions following on March 19. All will retail for ¥19,800, about $225.

Additionally, value packs will be released, which contain the PSP itself, a 4 GB Memory Stick, an extra battery, and matching wrist strap and pouch. The value packs will run for an additional $45.

Like I said, these are only being released in Japan for now, but remember that PSPs are import friendly. No boot tricks or hacks are required to play any region game.

While I'm perfectly happy with my white PSP (though I wish Darth Vader wasn't on it), these things are very pleasing to the eye. Anyone who hasn't picked up a PSP yet might want to consider grabbing one of these guys.

The green one is beautiful!! Are these PSP-3000's though? That could be a deal breaker if they havent fixed the screen issues yet.

Yes, these are PSP-3000s. I haven't played a 3000, so I'm not sure just how bad the screen issues are...
