Space Giraffe coming to XBLA?

OK I'll be honest, I never heard one word about this game before seeing this clip over at Siliconera. But the game looks awesome as hell so now I'm really hoping to see a stateside Live Arcade release.

It looks like a cross between Tempest and Rez with a little bit of the "pink elephant nightmare" from Dumbo thrown in... and if that's not enough to at least get you interested then there's no helping you.

A few more clips...

The game is made by the same gentleman responsible for those cool graphics that pop-up in the internal Xbox 360 Music Player.

Space Giraffe was actually built for XBLA, and was demoed at GDC (I think or another press event). It's supposed to be a spiritual successor to another game but the name escapes me right now.

Correction sir! Jeff Minter (yep -- the guy who did the trippy visualizer) is responsible. However it was original designed for the GameCube and was to be called "Unity." Jeff Minter also gave us the brilliant Tempest 2000, which is what most people are saying this is the successor to.

I'm a fountain of knowledge on this one. I've been waiting since the GC version got bumped. smilies/tongue.gif

I thought this game was demo'ed specifically for XBLA soon after the XNA Dev Kit was released.

This particular itteration of the game was specifically designed for XBLA according to Minter's official blog.

You win sir. In the long long wait for a new Minter title I got my facts a little confused. Unity eventually went on to become the Xbox Visualizer, and NOT Space Giraffe.
