Thats right, EA has announced earlier today that the powerhouse publishers will be stocking shelves sometime in the 4th quarter, with a brand spankin' new The Simpson's Game!

Our goal in developing THE SIMPSONS GAME is to create the most original game ever, which is a lofty goal and only possible given the close collaboration with ‘The Simpsons’ creative team. [...] We’re also especially proud of the game’s warm visual feel, which captures – for the first time ever in a game – the look of the TV show.

The game is supposed to follow a storyline which will make it "the most original game ever"...umm, how original is it to have a protagonist save the world? According to Totally360.com, thats exactly what this game will be. The characters from the blockbuster TV show, will team up to save the world, battling against multiple bosses from all areas of the universe. The only thing that actually catches my attention is that the voices will actually be recorded by the Dan Castellaneta, Julie Kavner, and Nancy Cartwright amongst others from the original cast.

The game is rumored to be a spoof on multiple major game titles, which can either make or break the game, dependent on the humor of the fanboys. This may be the type of game i wait for someone else to purchase first, but it definitely has potential!
