If you've played Super Smash Brothers: Brawl, you've probably asked yourself, "Who the hell is this starfish guy?" Well, that's Starfy (AKA Stafi in Japan). The Legendary Starfy (or by my translation, the Legend of Stafi) is an IP of Nintendo that, for some reason, hasn't made its way over to the Western market. The series, from the creator of the Kirby games, started off on the GBA and continues onto the DS.In the Starfy games, you control the eponymous star (he's not a starfish!) and in some games, his pink sister. The games are pretty standard platformers, except for the fact that you'll be swimming more than jumping. While they aren't amazing, I have always wondered why Nintendo wouldn't release the games over here - pretty much any first party Nintendo game sells well. Kotaku have reported that Nintendo has a Western release date set for one of the DS installments of the series. On June 8th, Starfy will finally star in an American release. Having played the imports, I can say that these games are pretty fun - not mind blowing by any means, but cute, funny, memorable, and enjoyable. The Legendary Starfy will be available on June 8, 2009 for the Nintendo DS
