Stranglehold PS3 Collector's Edition North American US Release Only?

10091676.jpgShockingly enough, I pre-ordered a copy of the PS3 Strangehold Collector's Edition to ensure I would be able to watch Hard Boiled in all its HD glory. Now it appears I won't be watching the John Woo classic, as the Strangehold Collector's Edition is in such limited release it may be cancelled in Canada all together.

Early this morning I received word that EB Games Canada will not carry the special edition of the PlayStation 3 version, and while FutureShop still shows a listing for the item, both BestBuy and Amazon have removed all mention of the PlayStation 3 Collector's Edition from their Canadian sites.

Much like the Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistance special edition, I fear the Canadian release of the action-packed Stranglehold is a love affair with US gamers only.

Why would you do this to us Midway? Is it because I stopped playing Mortal Kombat in the seventh grade when I realized how terrible it was? I'm sorry!

Propably they won't include french language so that's why it won't be avaible in Canada.

Over on the NeoGAF forums they're saying it has to do with liscensing rights and not language issues. Makes sense. That's why we don't have Live Video Marketplace up here yet.

I was going to pre-order. Glad I didn't. I'll be making a run for the border when this one comes out.
