Tempest, Sensible World of Soccer hit XBLA 12/19

It's another double shot Wednesday on Xbox Live Arcade! This week brings one we've known about for quite some time and another that seems to have come out of nowhere. Tempest is an arcade classic and still one of my favorite old school games (The Saturn version Tempest 2000 is especially awesome) though I'm nervous about using a standard controller if it's just an emulated version of the old arcade machine. But for 400 points you can find out for yourself.

Sensible World of Soccer on the other hand is an interesting addition. I've never played it myself and I'm very keen to find out why it made a top ten list of the most important games ever made. So naturally as a game historian and fan I'm interested. 800 points feels a bit high but I think my curiosity is gonna get the better of me. Anyone out there play it that wants to tell me what the big deal is?
