Tetris clears flashbacks one blockage at a time.

If you've just returned from somewhere hot and sandy - the kind of hot and sandy where road-side bombs and IEDs threaten your very life - then you may benefit from some decompression time with Tetris.

Seriously.

In a recent article at globeandmail.com, a British study conducted at Oxford University found that individuals who were exposed to a film featuring traumatic images of injury then subsequently played 10 minutes of Tetris, were much less likely to suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms such as flashbacks, than those who did not play Tetris.

And here I thought Tetris caused post-traumatic stress disorder.  The next time someone rants on about the violent effect of videogames, you can rant back about the PTSD caused by violent films and how videogames treat it.
