That Halo themed Mountain Dew is gonna put some pep in your step...

9684.jpg...and maybe your ass in the hospital with the amount of caffeine contained in a single can.

Siliconera crunched the numbers and figured out that the Halo 3: Mountain Dew "Game Fuel" packs more punch than a can of Red Bull. Here's the break down:

A regular can of Coke (12oz.) contains 34mg of caffeine, and Mountain Dew has a lofty 55mg.

The larger 20 ounce "Game Fuel" has a whopping 121mg of caffeine which means you're getting 6mg per ounce of soda. The regular Mountain Dew offers up 4.58mg and the standard Coke a now measly 2.84mg. Red Bull has 80mg of caffeine in its small 8.2oz can.

As a side note, a regular caffeine pill has 100mg of caffeine... literally paling in comparison to the monstrosity that is Mountain Dew's "Game Fuel".

So students and truckers, stock up for those all-nighters. This ain't no run-of-the-mill cross promotion, it's caffeine anarchy.

[...] Mountain Dew’s Game Fuel is designed to promote the release of Halo 3, and is infused with cherry flavor and extra caffeine for late-night gamers. The caffeine content is so high it is causing concern, as it apparently tops the caffeine in Red Bull and reviews indicate that has not helped the taste. The packaging looks great, though. [...]

[...] Seriously, did you read Dan?s story last week? The only other way to get that kind of sugar in you is if someone dipped their fist in caramel, gummy bears and pixie sticks then proceeded to punch you directly in the mouth. [...]
