A mere hours away from release, Halo 3 has invaded nearly every facet of the world. Reading my morning paper I caught a glimpse of a, poorly researched, review of the Xbox 360 exclusive:The Toronto StarIt is a lot like Star Trek, only with more cigars and less utopianism. The hero is a space marine with no name, referred to only by his rank, Master Chief. Actually his name is John. But while my local paper reviewer is attempting to broaden his portfolio for freelance work at TIME, the Discovery Channel has the newest Neil Blomkamp Halo 3 inspired short exclusively on their website. The short film, which is believed to be the last in the series, follows various UNSC troops through an epic battle with the Covenant; sticking out in the fight waiting for JOHN to arrive. While it is certainly impressive to watch, it saddens us that we may never see the Halo film come to fruition. Unless Halo 3 makes like $300 million dollars in a day... but what are the chances! Oh, and IT'S JOHN... his name is John. [Via Discovery Channel]
