We called it: Rock Band delayed in Canada

Some sites (like our good friends over at Joystiq) this past week have begun to report on a possible Rock Band delay in Canada. Specifically they are citing an expected release date change on the Future Shop website (Canada's biggest electronics retailer) to December 19th and 20th for the 360 and PS3 versions respectively. I can also verify that Blockbuster Canada is listing the release as December 20th, suggesting this is more than just a placeholder date for FS.

So what's the moral of the story? Always listen to theBBPS.

During Xav's sit down with Harmonix last month this very topic came up, and it was suggested that Canada may have to wait a little longer due to our french/english packaging regulations. It may sound like something that should be an easy fix, but look at what happened with "La Boite Orange" when Valve realized at the last minute that they had to bang out special Canadian packaging.

Pardon my smugness, but it's always nice to throw out an "I told you so!"

UPDATE: MTV Games has now confirmed a December 17th release for Rock Band in the Great White North. (via Shack News)
