What'cha Been Playing? Livin' On A Prayer Edition

See those douche bags in the picture above? I can't stand them.

Really, they're everything that's wrong with being from New Jersey.

That being said I listened to Slippery When Wet A LOT when I was still too young to know better. Every once in a while if I'm in a bar and something like "Raise Your Hands" gets played on the jukebox I will still sing along (of course I'm at least 3-4 beers deep into the night at this point). Then again I try not to frequent places that even have Bon Jovi on their jukebox but that's a different topic.

Rock Band 2 came out last Sunday. It has this strange power over you where it makes you really enjoy songs that you might otherwise not care about. Last night I got "Livin' On A Prayer" in my world tour while playing the drums. It was as much fun as I've ever had playing that game and because I have the song permanently indented in my brain I was able to do fills and what not that sounded kick ass and you couldn't cut the grin off of my face.

That's how good Rock Band 2 is.

So, What'cha Been Playing?

There's NOTHING wrong with being from New Jersey. I appreciate all aspects of the Garden State from the North to the South, from the lame to the awesome.

Oh....Castle Crashers, Ninja Gaiden II, and GTA IV.

JJ, don't worry man, I LOVE this stupid state, but I HATE Bon Jovi that much. It's when people not from here associate you with Bon Jovi and The Sopranos because it's the only thing they know about New Jersey.

Civ rev turned from a rental into a purchase over the week, should arrive over the weekend. Other than that i cracked in some wolf of the battlefield and N+, and finished off Medium guitar on rock band one. Not very difficult to many pros out there, but you've gotta start somewhere!

and curse you all for having RB2!

I too have been playing Rock Band 2 on drums solo tour, and when I came across Livin' on a Prayer, despite thinking Bon Jovi is the biggest bunch of knobs on the planet, I was so psyched that I started slamming the drums AND belting out the vocals while I laughed hysterically the whole time. And no, was neither high or drunk.

I should probably add I'm also still playing the hell out of Roller Coaster Tycoon 3, I created a roller coaster so intimidating that no one would even ride it! Pussies.

Those who read my post on Monday know the answer: Dragon Quest IV DS! smilies/cheesy.gif The game (so far, at least) is as good as I was hoping for. This is one title that automatically earns it's spot in my gaming collection. I've been playing some Super Mario Galaxy on the side, too. Gotta get to 120 stars...!

Force Unleashed is the fucking madman. The gameplay is good (not brilliant - but good) -- but it's not about the gameplay -- it's the story.

It does exactly what Shadows of the Empire did, but WAY better. I'm not going to spoil it for anybody, but I'm about halfway through and there's already been a major twist that changes the way you look at one of the key story elements in the franchise. The story and acting is lightyears (no pun intended) beyond the shitty second trilogy. You need to play this for the story, even if the gameplay is like God of War light.
