What'cha Been Playing: Post E3 Doldrums Edition

Well, if you take into account what Dan wrote today it's more apt to say that there were During E3 Doldrums as well. It's hard to disagree with anything he wrote but after listening to some of the guys on the 1Up podcasts I think there's an argument to be made for the direction the show took this year.

This week was mainly full of playing a couple games for pieces on the site. Look out early next week for our preview of Introversion's Multiwinia (multiplayer version of the excellent Darwinia) that will be hitting PC, Mac, Linux and XBLA. It's RTS that is right up my alley, but more on that next week.

The other piece to look forward to is a review of 2K's Top Spin 3. The series took a dramatic turn this year for fans of the previous two entries in the series but it seems like a turn for the better so look for that late next week.

That's about the size of it for me, what about you all? What'cha Been Playing?

Bourne Conspiracy has seen most of my time this week, but the real highlight was the Too Human demo. I've got some serious anxiety issues about not having that in my hands right now. :S

I found the wonder that is using a mic stand to play vocals and guitar at the same time in Rock Band and have been having an absolute blast playing it! Also I plan on finishing Lost Odyssey at some point this weekend/next week.

See. I'm spreading the good word of how kick ass it is to play guitar and sing at the same time. Takes the game to a whole new level. Welcome to the club... it's about Tim!!!

Last Tim I played Rock Band I tried it out (now that I have my mic stand back from Dan smilies/wink.gif ) and found out that it's a blast but usually only if you REALLY know the song you're trying to do.

I have fun even with songs that I dont really know the lyrics to, they are just a lot harder. I just now got past "Don't Fear the Reaper" and "Foreplay/Long Time" on expert drums and moved to the last tier of songs and completed all but "Run to the Hills" to finish expert drum career. Damn you Iron Maiden, Damn you to hell! /shakes fist

My G/f has a serious addiction to Rockband which has meant that in the week we've had it we've played it about 4 hours a night... Which is awesome because i get to drum (Untill it gets late-ish, we live in a flat / apartment), but i've got alot of other games i wanna be playing. I simpathise with run to the hills on expert, i've only encountered it once one medium so far, but it's an absolute beast! We have been having good fun playing the jimmy buffett pack, it's nice and simple and the whole band can sing along, it's got that real audience participation vibe.

Not a whole lot of stuff here... A bit of Mario Kart Wii and Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and I've begun playing Mega Man Star Force 2: Zerker x Ninja. It looks like this sequel might be better than the first.
