What'cha Playing Wednesday: Colt 45 Edition

Billy DeeI started the last What'cha Playing post by not talking about the things I was playing, but I'm expecting to remedy that later this week with a large post of impressions and a general overview of the event.

Though I've been hammering away at previews for the last week, I have had some time to pick up a couple games and show a little love to my consoles. First up is Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars, and I will fully admit to not being an RTS junkie. In fact, the only one I'd played through previously was The Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle-Earth II (on Xbox 360), which I really dug despite a general disinterest in the license. Anyway, I'm about halfway through the GDI campaign in C&C3 and while I'm enjoying it, I wouldn't say I've been glued to it. Still, it's hard to say anything bad about a game that employs Billy Dee Williams and gives us another way to drool over Grace Park.

And then there's that beta. I've never really been a huge Halo fan -- never finished the original, skipped the sequel almost entirely -- but as a gamer and someone who trades in knowledge, it seemed like my responsibility to be a part of the Halo 3 beta experience. And shockingly, I dig it. I'm not entirely sure why, or how, but it's good fun and I'm not being (completely) mauled by the competition, so I plan on making regular trips through the Crackdown menu system in order to cruise around on the Mongoose. And no, that's not a euphemism.

Oh, and I bought World of Warcraft today, due to (at least) three factors: the price tag ($9.99!), the aforementioned thirst for knowledge, and the gentle urging of my BBPS compatriots. I haven't purchased a new PC game in half a decade... I don't even know who I am anymore!

Leave a comment to let us know what's been getting your gaming juices flowing, and be sure to check back through the day to see what the other BBPS staffers are down with.

Yeah - Jim, Dan & Kevin. smilies/tongue.gif

I've had a very rhythm game kinda week. It's been all about Guitar Hero II (just finished medium the other night - w00t!) abd DDR Universe. I finally found my Taiko sticks this week too, so I'm thinking a little Drum Master might be in my immediate future.

I have been playing a little Crackdown and a lot of the Halo 3 beta. The slight adjustments make Halo that much better. Oh, I am also playing Pokemon Pearl as well.

Everything I'm playing is either for a site feature (Halo 3 for my feature, "A Spartan Life for Me") or for Review (coming soon!).

is C&C3 even worth playing on a console? I'm from the school that RTS should only be played on a PC

Brisk - normally I'd agree with you, but I quite liked the demo. I haven't played the full version yet (waiting to give it a rent) but it's definitely on my radar.
