What'cha Playing Wednesday: Hot-button of 2005 Edition

Also, God of War.... coming to the PSP apparently...Talk about being late to the party!

Relic, developer of the Xbox 360 groaner The Outfit, released this game that was all the rage back at E3 '05; Company of Heroes.

While I try to split my time as between home and portable consoles, I rarely get a chance to fire up my PC for a good gaming session. Recent releases like The Orange Box and "thebbps office" favorite Peggle have nudged me back into the PC gaming scene and I finally discovered Relic's solid WWII RTS PC-exclusive.

While COH has since had a stand-alone expansion added to the mix, I've been happily playing through the original campaign. My aptitude towards real-time strategy games has always been comparable to my understanding of advanced genetics (sub-par at best), so it's always been a genre I'd love to get into but was too afraid to try.

COH isn't as forgiving as I'd like it to be at times, but it's a solid fall-back for a predominantly FPS kinda-guy like myself; tired for the FPS scene after recent releases (Sup, BioShock and Halo 3?).

Other than that I've tried out Heavenly Sword and convinced myself that even though EXIT is awesome I'm not interested enough in it to warrant its, well-deserved, 800MS Point price-tag.

Enough about me... what'cha been playing?

I've done the unthinkable and reactivated my account, so like Swiftwulf, GH3 and WoW.

Just finished Metroid Prime 2 last night, so now it's on to Prime 3... Yes, I'm behind a little, and this will probably carry through the Super Mario Galaxy release, but what can I say? I have a job and responsibilities. smilies/sad.gif

Also, I'm near the end of Phantom Hourglass.

I'd love to get back to Phantom Hourglass, and I just started Ratchet and Clank (awesomne).

I'll prolly play some Guitar Hero 3 but who knows, I'm not impressed AT ALL (psst, wait for Rock Band)

I actually picked up a copy of Tomb Raider: Anniversary and I'm enjoying it.

Never have been a fan of the series, but I liked Legend.

I actually liked the quick-time events in that game... and while I've only played the Croft Manor and the first section of Level 1 I haven't seen any. I'm pretty sure they're still in there... and for $29.99 you can't go wrong!
