Yesterday Kevin was lamenting about the responsibilities of adulthood and how they can seriously fuck with your gaming. I wrote something not unlike this myself not too long ago. Kevin however, touched on something that I didn't: the pile of shame. What's a pile of shame? It's embarrassingly simple (or simply embarrassing, depending on when you're standing). It's the collection of games you've accquired but have never touched. I got to thinking about this pile of shame thing and took a look around my collection. My list is actually shorter than I thought; Mercenaries (Xbox) Metroid: Zero Mission (GBA) Rhythm Tengoku Gold (DS) Choro-Q (PS2) Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel (PS2) The Getaway (PS2) Loco Roco (PSP) Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles (PSP) Audiosurf (PC) Dungeon Siege: Throne of Agony (PSP) Uncharted: Drake's Fortune (PS3) Marvel: Ultimate Alliance (360) Test Drive Unlimited (360) Before you go calling BS on the lower portion of my list, let me clarify: the last three items I've played to death as rentals or sold my copy long ago. I've since purchased these and haven't touched the new copies yet. I'm glad the pile of shame doesn't include games I've played once and just haven't gotten back to yet -- if it did it would be a hell of a lot longer. I'm sure you know what's coming next: tell me my children, what's in your pile of shame?
