After Part 5, I received a lot of suggestions about several very interesting and slightly obscure games that you, the reader, are looking forward to. Unfortunately, I knew little to nothing about many of them, but I wasn't going to let that stop me from doing a good deal of research on the games that were suggested. If anything this series of articles is proof that there are a ton of missing titles gamers really want to see. And since I feel that I've talked plenty about the games I'm missing, here are the games that YOU want to see.
While looking up some of these games I learned two things: the first is there are a lot of games I've never heard of, and the second is that Wikipedia is my friend. I figured I'd start things off with a game I can't believe I didn't know existed: Halo Chronicles and Halo DS. Chronicles was supposed to be an episodic game developed by Peter Jackson's Wingnut Interactive. Just last month Jackson confirmed that the project was cancelled. Sadface. Halo DS speculation, fueled by an in-game video shown by IGN's Matt Casamassina was was never actually in development, as it never passed the pitch stage. I can't picture a Halo game on the DS, and I'm not sure how well it would do (especially after the was GTA: Chinatown Wars crashed and burned) but I can't deny that it would've been interesting to see how they used the DS' stylis.
The next two games don't seem to be cancelled but I haven't heard from them in awhile (that always makes me nervous): 2 Days to Vegas and This is Vegas. 2 Days to Vegas takes place over 48 hours (hence the title) and has a reported release date of late this year. This is Vegas lets gamers gamble, party, and drink excessively (sounds like a normal weekend to me) and we might even see it this September. That's exciting, but a new trailer would be nice.

Sequels: a common occurance in the gaming industry especially if you have the words 'Final Fantasy' in your name or you're a sports game. If the original does well critically and commercially there's a good chance we'll see a sequel, however these games, while deserving of a sequel, haven't gotten that magical number 2 in their name. Yet.
The first is Skies of Arcadia 2. Gamers loved hat game, yet almost a decade later and there's no word on a sequel? We can never have too many fantasy RPGs! Speaking of missing RPGs, what about Legend of Dragoon 2? It was received well (for the most part), and sold over a million copies worldwide, two things that when combined usually equal a sequel (I'm a poet and I didn't know it). Not enough RPG for ya? How about another called Rogue Galaxy 2. Upon its release Rogue Galaxy was met with very positive reviews and it actually sold amazingly well for a new IP. So where's Rogue Galaxy 2?
I think that's probably enough RPG love, so the last on my list of missing #2's is Perfect Dark 2. I'm not talking about a sequel to the so-so Xbox 360 launch title (which was a prequel), I want a true sequel to the Nintendo 64 original. It's almost surprising this game hasn't seen the light of day as the series has done well critically, and both titles have sold over a million copies each. FPS games are popular, Perfect Dark is an established brand, and Rare desperately needs to get their ass in gear.

Almost as common as the sequel, how about the trilogy? The following missing games broke the 'third time's the charm' rule: Crimson Skies 3, The Getaway 3, Power Stone 3, and Dark Cloud 3. The Crimson Skies series has always been a good quality franchise, unfortunately the series is considered a "cult success", which usually doesn't translate into a sequel (since it's all about the money). In my opinion there isn't enough crime and controversy in video games, but I'm fairly positive a third installment in the The Getaway series could solve that problem. Unfortunately, in June of last year Sony cancelled the game along with Eight Days. This game had the potential to be a real record breaker, as it took place over eight days and eight different states, which would've made it the largest game map to date.
It's been almost a decade since Power Stone 2 released on the beloved Sega Dreamcast, but Capcom has yet to give us a new game. The sequel did better than the original, but besides a compilation port to the PSP, there's no word on a new game in the series. Another series where the sequel did much better than the very successful original, the PS2's Dark Cloud 2 remains as one of the best games for the PS2 (an incredible feat for a console that has thousands of games). The game's developer, Level 5 has a lot of games on their plate including titles in the Professor Layton and Dragon Quest series, but hopefully they'll make room for a new Dark Cloud, because I know a lot of fans are looking for one.
So that's it for now, but since I'm sure there are still plenty of missing games out there in the wide and vast gaming world that you want to play, let me know in the comments section below. Who knows? Some of these games could actually see the light of day, and if enough gamers bitch about it, that usually seems to help.
