Skateboard Tetris? Uh, Not Quite.

This video of skaters in San Francisco has been making its way around the internet the past few days. People love clever, interesting, and new ways to play old classics. Remember the stop motion Space Invaders with real people, or real life Pac-Man on city streets?

However, why hasn't anyone commented on the fact that THIS IS NOT TETRIS!? Sure there are falling blocks being arranged into a pattern, but those blocks are not proper tetrominoes. Shapes looking like the letters U and X? What Tetris have they been playing?

Next time some hipsters want to make a cool retro game art project, it'd be nice if they did a little research. Alexey Pajitnov would be disappointed.
