The Typing of the Dead for the Sega Dreamcast |

Would anyone other than Sega take the chance to release a game like this? the Dreamcast was known for it’s quirky gand off-beat games (like Samba De Amigo) but this has to be the weirdest one of all.
It’s an exact copy of “The House of the Dead” but instead of using a light gun to kill zombies you use the Dreamcast keyboard. Letters, words and sentences pop-up over your enemie’s head and you have to type it out before they attack you. The killing phrases run the gamut from simple (Dog) to beyond hard (Stop the blah-blah-blah).
I’m still shocked that someone took the time to localize a game like this. Notice the characters wearing the Dreamcast backpacks with keyboards at the ready! The game also includes some of the worst voice acting ever put into a game.
So bear witness to my horrible typing skill, laid bare for all to see. Watch me (attempt) to type sentence long phrases as I’m being chased by some freak with a chainsaw.
And for the record, no I can’t really type without looking at the keyboard every few words. Mavis Beacon would not be proud.

Brilliant! Just brilliant! And so amazingly surreal too… A fantastic post Dan.
“Stock options have been very good to me”? Weird…

Damn, I have the keyboard, but no game. I can’t find a torrent or anything of it online either. Damn you for taunting me!

The typing of the dead, afaik, is not new… And also remember, this game has the same voice acting (dreadful by the way) and it’s an exact replica of “The house of the dead 2″. Be sure to check also “The pinball of the dead” for GBA (i kid you not).
Quotables:
“Dogs of the AMS… Time they made a move.”
“G’s blood stains”
“Jaaaaaaaaaaaaameeeeeeeeeeeesssss”
“I am, i am, i am, the emperor”.
All in all if you think about it, the voice acting resembles the notably bad acting on some cult B-Horror-Movies.
The engine is the same also for “Confidential Mission”.
