Due to a number of circumstances — lackluster interest in the PSP at the time, the overwhelming frequency with which GTA games were coming out, the inevitibility of a cheaper PS2 version coming down the road thanks to the same happening with Liberty City Stories — the October 2006 release of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories didn’t get nearly the attention it deserved from the gaming public at large. And it’s a shame too, because you missed out on one hell of a guest star: Phil. Motherfucking. Collins.

Wait — the guy from the Tarzan song? Yeah, that one. There was an interview with him at the time in which he said he wanted to do this to try and wash off some of his nice guy/soft rock image. Good for him, man. Well earned. His earlier work with Genesis make up some of the highlights of my collection, and even a lot of his solo stuff was beyond fantastic. Go on iTunes and buy the track The Roof is Leaking. Do it now. I’ll wait.

But back to what matters — Phil in GTA. You’re tasked with protecting the drum-king-god in three missions. But you know what’s better? Taking in a concert. So here it is, without further adieu, Phil Collins play In The Air Tonight, Live in Vice City.

If this song isn’t in Rock Band I’m gonna skin a cat with your teeth.
