While the PSP screen held vertically would offer a better playfield for Arkanoid, there’s simply no way to pull off the controls. Of course the DS really isn’t much better, so Taito took matters into their own hands and have seen fit to use the Game Boy port on the bottom of the DS to incorporate a proper paddle controller.

What you end up with is a perfect scenario for playing the arcade classic. Importing the game from Japan isn’t cheap, but since you’re getting the game and the paddle for 50 bucks it’s not horrible. If you like you can also buy just the game or just the paddle too. Bonus, the paddles comes in different colors to match the DS! And at least you know PlayAsia won’t kill you on the shipping costs.
