Counter-Strike, FOR KIDS! |

I’ll be the first to admit it - I’ve never actually played Counter-Strike. I came pretty late to the Valve party finally getting my feet wet with The Orange Box. So what better way to get started than with Counter-Strike for Kids!
Seriously though — is it too dated now, or still totally worth my time? And does anyone know if the servers are still up for the Xbox version? I can get that one for pennies on the dollar.

CS is absolutely brutal for a newb at this point. It’s not that it’s impossible to get in to, you just have to be patient. The rounds usually go quick but you have to be on the ball with your fire. It might be a good idea to start a private game and explore the maps, learn the controls and buying menu. We can meet up online if you’d like.
I’m pretty sure that the original Xbox CS servers are still running as it’s usually one of the most-played original Xbox games still.

Coolness. I’ve been peeking around and Counter-Strike Source actually seems to be a pretty good deal, so I might pick that up. My laptop isn’t fantastic, but it might be worth a shot.

I always have some fun going back to CS from time to time. Like Kevin said, the matches can be quick so you can get a few in in a short amount of time. I definitely suggest picking up the PC version of either Source or the orginal CS. BBPS CS night on steam!

CS:Source runs well on my laptop that barely runs WoW with everything off.

excellent! my laptop runs WoW pretty well, so it should run CS Source just fine. I’ll try to download it on the weekend.

Jim, definitely pick up CS - I would recommend on the PC though like what the others have said. There is nothing really like it to this day
If you see me on steam, we should get a game going.
