Is Wii Pole Dancer Something You Would Take a Spin On?

by the hammer of Christina "Faith" Winterburn!

Now this is a game I’ll be scoring high points on.

Peekaboo Pole Dancing company is apparently shopping around their own brand of game entertainment for the Nintendo Wii to potential partners in the gaming industry. The company which produced Carmen Electra’s home pole dancing kit, is looking to create a game for the Nintendo Wii that will allow gamers to lose weight while learning to shake their booty like a pole dancer.

The game will come complete with a pole that will setup easily in the home, much like Carmen’s pole kit and the company hopes to build this game onto the Wii fit exercise based image. Peekaboo expects the game is be a huge success along with the other pole dancing exercise products out there.

Frankly I’m not sure if Nintendo’s family friendly image is going to jump at such a game, but I know a lot of female gamers that wouldn’t be afraid to rack some points up swinging around on the pole at house.

Fallout 3 Collector’s Edition has Creepy Bobble Head

by the hammer of Christina "Faith" Winterburn!

Game Stop announced on Friday all the wonderful goodies that gamers will get along with the Fallout 3 Collector’s Edition and so far it seems a pretty good deal for an extra ten bucks. For only $69.99US for PC or $79.99 for PS3 or Xbox 360, gamers will receive:

  • Fallout 3: From the creators of the award-winning Oblivion comes one of the most realized game worlds ever created. Create any kind of character you want and explore the open wastes of post-apocalyptic Washington, D.C. Every minute is a fight for survival as you encounter Super Mutants, Ghouls, Raiders, and other dangers of the Wasteland. Prepare for the future.
  • Vault Boy Bobblehead: Enjoy your very own Vault Boy with this collector’s item direct from Vault-Tec.
  • The Art of Fallout 3: This hardcover book features nearly 100 pages of never-before seen concept art and commentary from Bethesda Game Studios artists.
  • The Making of Fallout 3: Get an exclusive, inside look at Bethesda Game Studios and the team behind the game with this special DVD.
  • Vault-Tec Lunch Box: The entire package comes in a fully customized metal lunchbox.

Not too shabby for the cost of two happy meals! I like the whole lunch box deal, though the Vault Boy bobble head is a little creepy. I’m jealous that Nick Chester, Editor in Chief at Destructoid got his lunch box and bobble head last year from Bethesda, but considering he’s the only guy with an exclusive picture of these items, I’m glad someone has them at least so we could see what they look like.

Enjoy the swag, Nick! I personally would keep that bobble head in any room of my house but my bedroom to avoid nightmares.

Gaming in the Kitchen with Zelda

by the hammer of Christina "Faith" Winterburn!

Triforce Cutting Board
Nothing makes a night of gaming better than food and having the best kitchen tools to make those wonderful treats doesn’t hurt too.

Scanning the wonderful world of Etsy, I found the perfect addition to any gamer’s kitchen, this neat cutting board with The Legend of Zelda Triforce on it and though it’s pretty as all the maidens in Hyrule, I don’t think I wanna spend $125 rupees for it. Even if it won’t dull my master sword after a hundred uses.

But if you really like 1337 motif’s design, I guess you could always buy it and make some of the recipes from Snack or Die.com. My favorites are the Moogle cupcakes and the mini Portal cake cookies. Or maybe so Halo 3 sushi?

Handmade Rayman Raving Rabbid Plushie: Made Just For Me

by the hammer of Christina "Faith" Winterburn!

Anyone who’s known me for a long time knows that I’m a nut for the rabbits from Rayman Raving Rabbids and for the longest time I’ve been wanting my very own rabbid plushie. Well, finally I’m going to have one to call my own and best of all, I’m the first kid on the block to own one!

After putting out the call for my very own rabbit plushie on Etsy, Catsicle answered my prayers with this amazing piece of craftsmanship. She even created the cute french maid outfit and the little plunger for him at my request. It was love at first sight.

And not just for me apparently, because Catsicle is now added a rabbid plushie as a recurring item on her Etsy store, so that you too can own a cute rabbid bent on world domination for only $40 plus shipping. The store version is just a plain rabbid plushie, but I’m sure plungers can be added for extra.

Thanks to Catsicle for finally making me my rabbid. DAHHHHHH!

Review: Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates

by the hammer of Christina "Faith" Winterburn!

Gamers, I have for you a great gem from the developers at Square Enix: Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates for the Nintendo DS. The Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles series got its start on the Gamecube system back in 2004 as more of a Secret of Mana hack and slash RPG rather than the turn based RPG we’ve come to expect from most Final Fantasy games.

The latest installment, Ring of Fates is actual a prequel in the Crystal Chronicles storyline and focuses on twin brother and sister Yuri and Chelinka as they journey to defeat the evil that has plagued their land. You play with Yuri as your sword wielder and Chelinka as your magic caster, you don’t actual switch between them but rather play them as one character. More characters will join your team as you work your way through the story and add their special skills to the cause.

Gameplay controls allow you to attack monsters at will, jump, climb, carry items, cast magic and perform a special attack. The stylus is used for the special attacks and magic while the d-pad/buttons for normal controls, which made it a bit awkward switching back and forth between the two during battle. If stylus would have been used for menu and map functions only the controls would be easier during battle and I would have probably died less.

Square Enix Members Launches Today in North America

by the hammer of Christina "Faith" Winterburn!

members.jpg
Today Square Enix launched the official North American branch of it’s online fan club, Square Enix Members, which allows fans of the company to register online in order to gain acess to special content. The content will include developer interviews, downloadable stuff like desktop wallpapers, contests and exclusive game trailers. Apparently there may be even more incentives added to the site as the months go by.

The Japanese site features a points system which rewards members with points when they purchase Square Enix products from the site and these points can be redeemed on special swag like stuffed Chocobos and Slime Pillows. Hopefully they provide our site with the same, but since the online Square Enix store doesn’t ship to Canada right now due to problems with customs, I doubt this will happen soon.

Special flash games based on Square Enix games may be available on the NA site for members to play as there are currently available on the Japanese version of the site. The Japanese site also acts as a gate to an avatar based MMO community where members can create a Final Fantasy style character to interact with other community members.

Since I’m writing this post the night before the official launch, I’ll be excited to check out the site with everyone else today. I hope Square Enix rolls out the good stuff for us.

Blowing your mind with games

And I thought I had a gaming problem?

Deviant Artist, uNDer3fOLdinGstARs created this amazing piece of art, Videogame Suicide, after playing Super Mario Bros. 1 & 3 to the point that he broke the actual games and his mind. So faced with a boggled mind at 2am, he decided to clear it out with a bit of Duck Hunt and that’s when the idea for the art piece came to him.

See how he pulls the imagery together here.

My favorite part of the piece is that every soccer mom and Jack Thompson wannabe would just see the videogames and violent imagery, and would automatically freak, so on that fact alone I want to hang it in my living room. It would look awesome next to my big Army of Darkness poster.

You can check out more of uNDer3fOLdinGstARs art at his Deviant art account.
