Rockstar has responded to the British Board of Film Classification’s decision to give Manhunt 2 an UK rating.

The BBFC, which back in June 2007 refused to give Manhunt 2 a rating due to its “unremitting bleakness and callousness of tone,” said on Friday that it had been left with “no alternative but to issue an ‘18′ certificate to the game” following the Video Appeals Committee’s decision to uphold its appeal against the rejection of the work.

“What? Oh yeah. We made Manhunt 2. Why? It got a rating? Really? Well, la-di-da,” said Rockstar in a statement phoned in to The Game Rag.

“Here you go United Kingdom. Enjoy your bloody game! What’s for lunch? I’m tired of pasties. Every bleedin’ day, it’s pasties, pasties, pasties. Can’t we get a real chef in here? What’s Gordon Ramsey doing? Oh yeah, being a twat on telly. I hate this bloody cafeteria. I’m going to the pub. Bye.”

I then got the Invite Them Up CD and was thrilled to see that he was on there. And he was hilarious too! It’s not every day you get to hear a comedian be funny. Barack Obama is NOT a friend of video games.

Sure, I’ve had my fair share of controversy when it comes to the industry. It’s no secret that I’ve had issues with violent games and their effect on children. I was in support of federal game regulation. What can I say? I was afraid for my little girl.

I’ve since reexamined the issue and I can tell you that I will fight for the issues that you deem important! I’ve changed my stance on plenty of issues and it’s only with TRUE change (not like the change that Obama claims to bring - how many times has he changed his mind on the issues?) that our country will be able to pick itself up. Isn’t it about time we had some real change for a change?

Now, you may be thinking to yourself, “Is she admitting she was wrong? Is that what she’s always going to do when she becomes President? Is she going to be weak?” I’ve never said I was wrong. I just said that I’ve ‘reexamined’ the issue. That’s a completely different thing. How so? Elect me President and I’ll tell you.

Did I ever tell you the time when all of the Democratic candidates were at a local Pizza Hut for a photo op? While we were waiting for the photographer to get there, we decided to have a friendly game of Ms. Pac-Man. I was up first, of course, and I dominated the first field. Barack was up next and I guess he wasn’t doing so good. That’s when I heard him say that he hated Ms. Pac-Man. He accidentally got gobbled up by a ghost while going through the opening on the right side of the field and he hit the machine and, I sh*t you not, screamed, “I hate this game!” That’s when I knew that he wasn’t going to be on your side.

That’s when I knew he hated video games.

Video game players of the United States - I ask you, in this time, to consider who you want to be your President: A very strong woman who can rank up a high score on Mappy? Or a weak man who can’t even get the extra ship in Galaga?

P.S. While watching the video on YouTube to see how it looked after I uploaded it, I found this other amazing parody of Zero Punctuation that is about 10,000 times better than mine and more complete. Seeing as how I hadn’t seen it before I spent, oh, I don’t know, 8 HOURS putting my 1 minute video together, I decided to post my version anyways. Besides, my take is a little bit different in that I review ZP’s review as opposed to just parodying the style of ZP. I know the other video was posted on all the other blogs back in November (and of course I missed it) but I’m going to post it again, in order to give a couple more views to this gem.

According to a local GameStop employee, there will be a shortage of DVDs in the next coming months and customers should start pre-ordering their games immediately before that happens.
“I heard from the heads at GameStop that the DVD industry is gearing up for one of the biggest shortages its ever had,” said Peter Tork, a manager for the Brunswick, Ohio location. “Everyone’s going to be affected, even Best Buy, so you should definitely pre-order any game that you want for the next few months.”

Tork said that a “super secret” internal memo was sent to the store an hour before we arrived to interview him. The internal memo mentioned laser shortages as well as a shortage of the material used to make the DVDs.

“They’re made from this weird stuff that they’re running out of in Japan, or wherever they make them. That means any Xbox 360 or Wii games that you want should be pre-ordered before you leave today.”

Tork said the memo mentions Blu-Ray discs as a possibility for the shortage as well.

“Oh, yeah. Blu-Ray discs too. You should definitely pre-order any PS3 games you want.”

In addition to possible DVD and BD shortages, Tork said the memo mentions one more issue to think about.

“You should definitely trade in any used games before the shortage too.  If everyone turns enough used games in, they can probably recycle the discs and make more new games for everyone to play. We have a call list you can sign up for that will tell you when those recycled games are up for pre-order.”
