Gamer Ink: Bowser Enjoys long walks on the beach…

by the hammer of Dan Zuccarelli!

playing double-neck guitar, smoking weed, surfing, ….and Jesus.

And really, who doesn’t?

At least that’s what I can guess from the tattoo below.

Gamer Ink: D-Pad band

by the hammer of Dan Zuccarelli!

I could explain what went into the tattoo below, but I’ll just let Justin (it is his tattoo after all) explain it for himself:

Basically I’ve been playing video games since before I could walk. I’ve also owned just about every system since then, so when I finally decided to get a tattoo based on gaming it was a really strenuous process. Initially I thought about getting something based on mario or nintendo, but I’ve played a lot more than just those games. After looking around for a little bit, I decided I needed something that encompassed my entire gaming experience while also going back to my roots in gaming, and voila. First system I ever owned was the NES and every console I’ve owned since then has had this in common.

Gamer Ink: Assassin’s Creed

The game will probably be remembered for failing to live up to the hype but at the end of the day the it still had some truly kickass elements, not the least of which being Altair himself. Getting a tattoo in such a exposed area is always a risk (one I’d probably not take) but if that’s the way he’s gonna do it at least it’s something a little cryptic. I’m always a big fan of the kind of video game ink that’s not so immediately obvious. Not that I don’t enjoy the obvious ones too…

Gamer Ink: a cheeky addition

Alright look, here’s the deal. This guy had the Mario Bros. characters tattooed all over his ass. Right on the cheeks, both of them. It’s hilarious, goofy, and more than a little creepy. I mean, who’s supposed to see it??

I’m putting the pictures after the break in case you’re at work and are nervous about what your IT dept. will say. There’s nothing graphic, but all the same. But it’s a worth addition to the gamer ink gallery we’re building here.

Gamer Ink: Space Invader band

by the hammer of Dan Zuccarelli!

I’ve certainly got Space Invaders on the brain lately. First I imported Space Invaders Extreme for the DS, then I find out that you’ll be able to play AS the Invaders in the new console version! Things are certainly looking up for the “retro game made new” lover.

Seems like the perfect time to show off this Space Invader tattoo. Much cooler than some tribal band (and what isn’t) but not so overstated as to be stupid looking. I’ve actually thought about getting something similar.

Super Paper Gamer Ink

by the hammer of Dan Zuccarelli!

This here is the second tattoo from reader Tina who sent us the awesome looking Kirby and Meta-Knight. Well she’s back with another tat in the same vein but different game. Inspired by the Super Paper Mario version of Bowser.

After this tat it’s safe to say Tina’s quite the fellow nerd, which makes her aces in my book! Thanks for sharing Tina!

Gamer Ink: Moogle!

Incidentally, my tattooist hated it, and assumed it was an angel teddy bear. pah! What does he know?

moogle.jpgWhile I’m not sure if I’d get my tattoo done by someone that hated the design, at least all turned out well in the end because this little bugger is cute as hell.

Excellent choice, and thanks for sharing it Laura!
