To be king of your kitchen, use Crestfield wax paper.

(a shiny ha’penny to the first commenter to know what the hell I’m talking about.)

Ode to a hypocrite on Sessler’s Soapbox

by the hammer of Dan Zuccarelli!

It’d be funny to watch the holier-than-thou Spitzer twist in the wind in the wake of this hooker scandal, but at this point it’s really just par for the course. Of course it’s nice to have one less witch hunt dick out of office

There was a Punch-Out 2?

by the hammer of Jim Squires!

Yes smartass, I know that Super Punch-Out for the SNES was technically the second game in the Punch-Out series. But did you know that Nintendo attempted to capitalize on the success of Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out by getting a sequel out on the NES? It featured Mike Tyson taking on intergalactic contenders and was called, wait for it, Mike Tyson’s Intergalactic Power Punch. I shit you not.

Guru Larry does an excellent job filling you in on all the details of this horrendous abomination of a game, why the smart folks at Nintendo cancelled it, and how it got released under a different name anyways. Come on Nintendo, you know you want to put this on the Virtual Console.

Mushroom Men gameplay surfaces, looks totally generic

by the hammer of Jim Squires!

Remember that fantastic teaser trailer for Mushroom Men? The one that gave you zero indication of the nature of the game, but had you salivating none-the-less? Yeah — the game doesn’t look that cool. It doesn’t even look good. Looks like your generic run-of-the-mill last gen 3D platformer.

Turns our there’s a DS title too. It’ll come out a few months before the Wii version and tell a different story in the same universe. I’m gonna keep my fingers crossed — after all, Oddworld looked pretty generic from the screenshots too. Once you got your hands on it though? Brilliant.

Indiana Jones and the Lego of Doom

Remember last week when we shared up the Batman trailer and I said I might finally be turned around on this whole Lego thing? I think this seals the deal. Gameplay footage from Lego Indiana Jones leading up to and including the boulder scene.

Sonic looks like he hit a wall at full speed.

This creepy little bit of copyright infringement exists somewhere on the back of an ice cream truck in Britsol. The truck says “MIND THAT CHILD!” Something deep inside me chuckles at the possiblity that it’s a court ordered sign due to an incident in which the driver wanted to take his break and didn’t want to wait for the kids to get out of the way of his truck — their little ice cream cones and matted hair all smooshed into the front of his grill.

…and that’s what makes me a bad person.
