A few weeks back we were pleased as punch to tease Bejeweled Twist, PopCap’s first new entry in the Bejeweled series in more than 4 years. It’s available now complete with a free trial version in the official PopCap Store.

So what exactly does Twist do differently? You can expect a full review as soon as I get my Windows box back up and running (damned Dell AC Adapter). Until then peep the video above. From the looks of things I’d say it’s Bejeweled with a touch of Hexic. Until I get my hands on it consider it all speculation.

Bejeweled and it’s clones are responsible for billions and billions of hours of robbed productivity worldwide.  I’m holding PopCap Games solely responsible when the Chinese rise up.  It’s been their damned match-3 genius that’s killed the upward momentum of capitalism.

Now, just as we’d all moved on and started piecing our lives back together, PopCap has seen fit to yank us out of our casual games 12 step programs.  In less than a month the first true sequel to Bejeweled in more than four years will be hitting PC’s, and this time it promises to deliver something new and exciting.  No idea what yet — my guess is it’s something to do with fish.  Hit the jump for the full presser;
