Capcom Reveals Triple Threat of Mega Man 9 Bosses

by the hammer of Tim Horn!

I’ve never played a Mega Man game! You may commence the throwing of stones, but that won’t stop me from posting the freshly announced bosses and weapons for the upcoming uuber-retro Mega Man 9. I am genuinely excited about it and had better get started on playing the previous entries. The Mega Man X games can wait for a little bit while I catch up. Anyways, make the jump to get acquainted with Mega Man’s latest foes and weaponry. Cheers!

Is this what Marvel vs. Capcom 3 might look like?

by the hammer of Jim Squires!

No, it’s not a screen from MvC3. As a matter of fact there’s still no official confirmation that the game even exists. Still — Marvel’s President of Production Kevin Feige let it slip to IGN a few weeks ago that Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is possible, “and maybe sooner than you think.”

This led to the folks over at IGN speculating on how difficult it would be to take the engine from the upcoming import-only 2.5D Tatsunoko vs Capcom and slap a Marvel sticker on it. The above screens are from TvC, and I can’t help but feel they’re pretty sharp. The psuedo-cel-shading is a great fit for the Marvel Universe. For now we’ll have to let these whet our appetite until we can hear something more official from Capcom.

Some footage of the engine in action (albeit over somebody’s shoulder);

Mega Man 9 trailer, multiplatform confirmed

by the hammer of Jim Squires!

There’s been a lot of talk about Mega Man 9 and where you’ll be able to play it. First it was WiiWare exclusive. Then it wasn’t. Then it was again. Then it wasn’t. Now courtesy of the official trailer coming out of E3 it looks like we can confirm that it will appear on WiiWare, Live Arcade and the PlayStation Store.

Yeah, this news has been out for a couple of days — but hey — it gave me an excuse to post this kick ass trailer. Part of me wants to hate this one, but seeing MM9 in action (how cool is the elephant??) keeps my loins at their moistest.

1942 Happening All Over Again On July 24

by the hammer of Tim Horn!

Remember 1942? I do. I played the hell out of it back in the day. Now, the remake of that iconic title has finally got a release date set for July 24, 2008 on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade. Actually, ‘remake’ is not the right word. It’s definitely a new entry, but it will take a lot from the previous entries of the 194X series. Anyways, 1942: Joint Strike will feature a full 3D engine that looks pretty good from the screenshots and videos that I’ve seen.

That’s about all there is to it other than it will also have a 2-player online co-op mode and a new soundtrack by Norihiko Hibino (Metal Gear). Good times will be had. Any takers?

Mega Man 9 footage surfaces

by the hammer of Jim Squires!

I’ve made no secret of my saliva-enducing anticipation for this one. Judging by the comments on my last post, neither have you.

Now courtesy of GoNintendo we have our first look at the game in moving pictures. /drool. The soundtrack alone is making me moist in my areas.

Mega Man 9 confirmed, coming to WiiWare

by the hammer of Jim Squires!

I really can’t convey in words how much this announcement excites me. Maybe I should use interpretive dance. Whatever the case, Mega Man 9 is officially confirmed (+1 awesome), coming to WiiWare (+2 awesome) and utilizing a retro style similar to the original NES series (+ so much awesome a brick just fell out of my rear-endicus). Screens are from Nintendo Power. Don’t look too close of the awesome may turn you into a pillar of salt.

The game will be developed by Inti Creates, a development studio made of of key people involved in the development of the first three Mega Man games for the NES. I think a second brick just fell out. Confirmed bosses? Magma Man, Galaxy Man, Jewel Man, Concrete Man, Hornet Man, Plug Man, Tornado Man, and — wait for it — Splash Woman. Finally, a Mega Man game that lets me act out all of our filthiest fan fic/cosplay fantasties. No? That’s just me?

Play the 1st level of Apollo Justice Right Damn Now

by the hammer of Ryan Hewson!

Apollo Justice web demo

This is sort of cool: Capcom has posted a Flash demo of Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney, complete with virtual DS mockup controls. I believe this is the initial level of the game. If you’re interested, there’s your link above. I would have embedded the thing here but it’s huge. Physically.

These games are a monotonous slideshow of rote memorization and ridiculous j-pop kiddie banter to me, but hey! You kids have fun!
