I’ll be the first to admit it - I’ve never actually played Counter-Strike. I came pretty late to the Valve party finally getting my feet wet with The Orange Box. So what better way to get started than with Counter-Strike for Kids!

Seriously though — is it too dated now, or still totally worth my time? And does anyone know if the servers are still up for the Xbox version? I can get that one for pennies on the dollar.

It’s still pretty easy to be awed by the mod communities that exist. Every once in a while something comes along that still makes me sit back and go “Woweewowow”. In this case it’s a Counter-Strike map made by Nipper that recreates Walt Disney World’s Haunted Mansion ride in excruciating detail. I’m not sure how this would actually play in an actual match but that does not take away from the effort put in to this stunning work.
