Criterion Collection Uses PS3 As Reference Blu-ray Player |

Ever since I’ve had my HDTV I’ve been really jonesing for a Blu-ray player, specifically the PS3 since I’m a gamer and all. It’s been well documented about the advantages of owning a PS3 as your main Blu-ray player with the ability to upgrade the firmware and add features over the course of its life. Really though I had no idea how well respected the PS3 was as a Blu-ray player until Sound & Vision visited Criterion Collection’s new Manhattan screening room and noted the well respected DVD company using the PS3 as their reference player. Cnet also noted that the PS3 topped their list of best Blu-ray players.
With a pedigree like that it’s hard to deny the PS3’s impact on the world of high end home theater. I wonder if the restoration folks at Criterion ever kick back with a little Uncharted or Pixel Junk Monsters when they need a break…
Thanks Andarko!
