Rumor: Hudson making New Duck Hunt for the Wii?

by the hammer of Jim Squires!

File this one under rumor with a capital R. Someone has posted up a video of themselves playing New Duck Hunt, claiming they found it their dad’s desk, further claiming that their dad works for Hudson. In all likelihood it’s bogus, but wouldn’t it be awesome if this were the real deal?

Hudson game needs name, you game?

In what I can only assume is meant as a show of support for the ongoing writers strike in Hollywood, Hudson Entertainment has decided to turn the naming duties for it’s latest Wii title over to the hands of non-union contributors — aka, you!

Hudson will be releasing their new 10-game Wii Sports lookalike in the near future, and they’re turning to you the gaming public for naming suggestions.

Kart Racing, Beach Volleyball and Badminton are the only games confirmed so far. Going off that, I suggested they call it “An Afternoon at that Go-Kart Place with the volleyball net after a morning at your Grandmothers, because seriously, who else plays badminton? It’s a game for people who think tennis rackets are too heavy.

Somehow, they still haven’t called back. If you’ve got something better, let Hudson know!

Bomberman Live, reviewed (XBLA)

I’ve said it before, but Xbox Live Arcade has enabled companies to deliver smaller, arcade like games as stand alone products instead of needing to be a huge $60 affair. That’s a blessing for those out there that like the hot, fast arcade action.

We’ve had some great titles float down the XBLA river, but I’ve never had as much fun as I’ve had playing Bomberman over Xbox Live. With a full game of 8 people it’s a chaotic mess, and it’s nearly perfect. Simply put, $10 plus 7 friends will get you the best experience Xbox Live Arcade has to offer. Continue Reading »

If there’s one thing that’s for sure about the newest iteration of Bomberman, it’s that the multiplayer is a blast over Xbox Live. Up to 8 people can battle it out per board. I’ll be hopping on Live some time inbetween 8:30p and 9:00p EST so if you haven’t done so already send a friend invite to Harpua Scorpio (with a space).

Leave a comment below or in the forum thread if you want in on the hot bombing action. See you tonight!

Classic Bomberman heading to Xbox Live Arcade!

by the hammer of Dan Zuccarelli!

360bomberman.jpg
True, it’s not the first Bomberman game to hit the 360, but it will be the first one that isn’t a total abmonination.

Expected to hit in this summer, Bomberman will support re-vamped graphics, full character customization and 8-player online multiplayer (listening Nintendo??). For those that don’t like playing online you’ll be able to get 3 friends together and play some 4-player local games as well.

“This has been one of our most requested games, our fans have been clamoring for it, and we are thrilled to finally be able to deliver the game they want,” said John Greiner, President of Hudson Entertainment.

“As our flagship series, Bomberman has been hailed as the best multiplayer game ever created. Now that Xbox LIVE(R) Arcade delivers a truly worldwide multiplayer gaming platform, we can at last bring to market a Bomberman game that represents our long-term vision of the brand.”
