I’ll be the first to admit it - I’ve never actually played Counter-Strike. I came pretty late to the Valve party finally getting my feet wet with The Orange Box. So what better way to get started than with Counter-Strike for Kids!

Seriously though — is it too dated now, or still totally worth my time? And does anyone know if the servers are still up for the Xbox version? I can get that one for pennies on the dollar.

Someone on CNN’s iReport has posted a picture of their children’s Xbox nailed to a tree. How did it get that way? Well, it would seem the kids were being a bit bratish while they played games on the poor, innocent Xbox. When the boys did not respond to their Father’s requests to behave, he had the Xbox nailed to a tree in their backyard.

It wasn’t the brightest thing to do. Rather than nail it to the tree in what looks like 2 pieces, wouldn’t you have rather made some money off of it instead? I mean, cash does do a bit more for you than a bullet-deflecting Xbox nailed to a tree, right? What do you think?

I was just combing through my old flickr photos and came across this one of my daughter. She was just shy of ten months old here. Now she’s three and has better computer literacy than my mother. Go figure.

As she got older it became harder and harder for me to use that pad as she always wanted to jump on it with me. Even when I bought her a second pad, she just wanted to be around the feet of dear old dad. Now she has her own — the Konami Kids Playground Frogger game, complete with a dancepad using shapes and colors. Being a dad is a hoot sometimes.
