The Black Mesa team is very busy recreating the first Half-Life using the Source engine. You may think this has already been done by Valve themselves but not like this. It’s a ground-up recreation attempting to match the quality of Half-Life 2. Check out the trailer below and their site here.

It’s still pretty easy to be awed by the mod communities that exist. Every once in a while something comes along that still makes me sit back and go “Woweewowow”. In this case it’s a Counter-Strike map made by Nipper that recreates Walt Disney World’s Haunted Mansion ride in excruciating detail. I’m not sure how this would actually play in an actual match but that does not take away from the effort put in to this stunning work. Seems like Richard DaLuz was tired of breaking out a single console when he needed a retro fix. So he made this very own Super Console named “Super Genintari”. This monster of a system has the NES,SNES Genesis and a Atari 2600 in one nice big box. You can check a video of it in action after the jump.
