What the @#$% is a Munny? (Bully Edition)

by the hammer of Jim Squires!

Maybe I’m old and out of touch, or maybe they’re just obscure, or maybe it’s both. Regardless, I have no idea what a “Munny” is. As Dan explained it, they’re little figurines that you paint however you want. Last I heard that was called Warhammer, but I digress.

Reader Bryan Rodriguez sent us a photo of a Munny he custom painted to look like Jimmy Hopkins from Bully. It came out a little more urban than the cherubic Irish-lookin’ little man we’re all used to, but it’s fantastic just the same. Excellent work, Bryan! And don’t forget Bully fans — the long-awaited 360 and Wii versions of the game hit store shelves today.

Why I love viral marketing

by the hammer of Jim Squires!

Sometimes viral marketing does more than just declare its love for bees. Sometimes it makes things really scary, just like this.

God bless Rockstar — now let’s all start the “how long until the get in trouble for this one” timer!

The new GTA trailer… Move Up, Ladies

by the hammer of Dan Zuccarelli!

I was gonna post this yesterday, but the servers seemed to crawl after the release of the trailer… so I thought it best to wait a few hours.

Sure, the immigrant comes to America story is by-the-numbers, but still… I’m looking forward to the (eventual) release of the next installment of the Grand Theft Auto series.

How the Grinch Stole Grand Theft Auto [Photo]

by the hammer of Santos Gonzalez!

On one of my many travels in New York City, I ran across this ad for How the Grinch Stole Christmas. It seems like somebody at the ad agency was a big fan of GTA. For their sake I hope Rockstar or He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named doesn’t see it. You never know what will set them off.

You know what gaming needs? More Phil Collins.

by the hammer of Jim Squires!

Due to a number of circumstances — lackluster interest in the PSP at the time, the overwhelming frequency with which GTA games were coming out, the inevitibility of a cheaper PS2 version coming down the road thanks to the same happening with Liberty City Stories — the October 2006 release of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories didn’t get nearly the attention it deserved from the gaming public at large. And it’s a shame too, because you missed out on one hell of a guest star: Phil. Motherfucking. Collins.

Wait — the guy from the Tarzan song? Yeah, that one. There was an interview with him at the time in which he said he wanted to do this to try and wash off some of his nice guy/soft rock image. Good for him, man. Well earned. His earlier work with Genesis make up some of the highlights of my collection, and even a lot of his solo stuff was beyond fantastic. Go on iTunes and buy the track The Roof is Leaking. Do it now. I’ll wait.

But back to what matters — Phil in GTA. You’re tasked with protecting the drum-king-god in three missions. But you know what’s better? Taking in a concert. So here it is, without further adieu, Phil Collins play In The Air Tonight, Live in Vice City.

If this song isn’t in Rock Band I’m gonna skin a cat with your teeth.
