Aerial Shots of the Motorstorm: Pacific Rift tracks

by the hammer of Dan Zuccarelli!

For an early PS3 title Motorstorm was pretty good. Not great by any stretch, but good. The terrain got a little too monotonous for me, after a while you just had to get out of the fucking desert.

So Pacific Rift is taking it to the jungle, which you think in the end might suffer from the same problems of variety, but taking a look at the tracks below I think they’ve found a way to keep the tracks a little more unique this time round.

I was kinda sorta on the fence on this game before, but after seeing the photos below I’m totally in the “buy column.” Make sure to hit the jump, there’s 16 all together thanks to NeoGAF.

Badlands: “A giant track, racing at the feet of a giant cinder cone, Badlands has a name that’s perfectly descriptive. Wait until you see the enormous active crater you need to jump over, or the blind, sheer precipices you need to tear round at high speed if you’re to have any chance of winning. And let’s not get into the collapsed tunnels and the huge canyon jump that crosses the track 75 feet in the air. These are MotorStorm lands. These are Badlands.”

Alone in the Dark screenshots

by the hammer of Dan Zuccarelli!

I’m not a HUGE horror fan, but I feel like when the environment in a game is done really well (like Condemned) it can really add a TON to the game experience. Seems like Alone in the Dark is going to do a good job of scaring the crap out of me as well… these environments look fantastic.

New SegaCD game!!! (Wait, it’s actually a Wii game????)

by the hammer of Dan Zuccarelli!

Looking at the screen shots below you might be thinking to yourself, “Hey where’d you get the shots from some generic light gun game from the 90’s?” Well, you’d be mistaken. These are screen shots for Target: Terror for the Nintendo Wii. Yes, ladies and gentlemen… this game was made RECENTLY.

Damn that Wii puts out some awesome graphics.

I’d probably buy it, but I’m too tempted by the other 80 shovelshit games out for the Wii to be able to choose what awesome mind-blowing play experience to start with.

Street Fighter IV screens

by the hammer of Dan Zuccarelli!

I’m actually getting a little too excited about Street Fighter IV, even though I’m wondering about how fun it’ll be without an arcade cabinet involved. Street Fighter games have always been served best with a joystick in an arcade, evidenced by how lackluster the XBLA version of Street Fighter that came out last year.

Hopefully I’m wrong though, cause the game looks awesome.

New Wii Decasports screens

by the hammer of Dan Zuccarelli!

I’m looking forward to DecaSports on the Wii. Why? Right now before having played the game I’m going to say it’s the curling. After I play it, I’ll probably say I was looking forward to it ’cause I’m an idiot.

Either way, it’s more than likely yet another mini-game collection for the Wii… but I’m still looking forward to it. Anyone else?

Batman Lego screenshots

by the hammer of Dan Zuccarelli!

Apparently these came out a few days back but I totally missed seeing them.

The success of Star Wars: Lego had to come as a bit of a shock to those involved, I mean who would’ve guessed an easy kids-type-game license cash-in would inspire a few sequels and branching to other licenses? Don’t get me wrong, I love me some Lego Star Wars but let’s not kid ourselves… besides the general goofiness of the thing there’s not really any kind of deep gameplay or anything. Though co-op is a good time.

Anyways, back to the point. Batman Lego screenshots.

Deca Sports for the Wii (It’s got Curling!)

by the hammer of Dan Zuccarelli!

curling1.jpgOf all the weird shit about me, the weirdest thing is most likely my affinity for Curling. To say no one follows it here on the east coast might be a bit of an understatement, since most people laugh at me when I tell them I like it. But fuck them if they don’t get it, it’s a good time. Hell my TiVo is set to record anything with Curling in the title and every few weeks you’ll see something pop up on ESPN 8 (you know, the Ocho).

Well now I have a reason to keep an eye on Deca Sports for the Wii. Of course it’s got a few other interesting inclusions like Supercross and Figure Skating, but we’ll have to wait and see if it amounts to more than wii-more waggling.

Judging from the screens below I think it’s sponsored by Adidas, but I’m not sure :P click to see ‘em larger
