De Blob: Now more than just my nickname!

by the hammer of Jim Squires!

De Blob is one of those games that is slightly on the radar, and I have no idea why. Most of us are aware of it, but nobody’s really talking about it. Maybe that’s why I’m writing this post. Or maybe it’s because it’s a slow news day. Either way, De Blob is easily climbing near the top of my “ones to watch” list. It’s got a distinctive visual style, a neat concept, and (as you’ll see when you hit the jump) a kick ass soundtrack that nicely compliments some pretty solid looking platforming action. Anybody else out there looking forward to painting the town red this September?

First Impressions: MX vs. ATV Untamed

by the hammer of Kevin Alexander!

The most familiar that I am with the world of Motorcross (”MX” for you cool kids) is when those crazy bastards try to do backflips during the X-Games every year. Back when I was growing up and the L.A. Coliseum could still be somewhat safely used I seem to remember seeing a crazy track constructed there that went outside the stadium at some parts. I was easily amused and thought that was pretty cool. Of course, I loved the WWF and monster trucks also, so I’m not real sure where that leaves me.

mx-vs-atv-untamed-cover.jpgIt can be safely said that though my slight interest in different types of motorized racing has fallen by the wayside my love affair of arcade racing games that started with Super Sprint and R.C. Pro-Am has never wavered. When MX vs. ATV Untamed showed up at our door I have to admit I was pretty excited. My only other experience with this series was the previous “vs.” title MX vs. ATV Unleashed. Admittedly I never spent a ton of time with that game but I think that was more a reflection of a crowded game shelf more so than the actual quality of the title. The past few days have given me more than a few hours to sit down with Untamed and give it a good whirl. So dude, you should totally hit the jump to read my totally rad opinion of what I’ve seen so far! Continue Reading »

by the hammer of Dan Zuccarelli!

During the podcast we mentioned how much we were hoping for Microsoft’s E3 “Bringing it Home” to make a comback this year. It really was a fantastic move on Microsoft’s part and as an attendent of E3 it really does a great job of letting everyone get a good look at what is on the show floor.

There’s a partial list so far, and there’s no way of knowing which will be videos and which will be demos… but it’s a good list so far

  • “BioShock” (2K)
  • “Blue Dragon” (Microsoft Game Studios)

Stuntman: Ignition screenshots

by the hammer of Dan Zuccarelli!

To follow-up our review of the original Stuntman game from yesterday here’s a fresh warm pile of next-gen screenshots of the game’s sequel. If they fixed some of the control issues this game will be squarely on my “must-own” list.

I’m guessing most of these shots will take place during the A Whoopin’ and a Hollerin sequel (Think Dukes of Hazzard) “movie” in the game. Now a sequel of a game has a sequel of a fake movie in it? I’m confused!
