What’cha Been Playing, Watching, Reading, Whatever…

by the hammer of Kevin Alexander!

So this week’s been a little light on games for me, though I did complete the “Prologue” portion of The Witcher: Enhanced Edition. Hopefully I’ll get through some more of that and give you all my impressions of that PC RPG. Mostly though I’ve been splitting my time getting caught up on season 6 of The Shield (which I finished yesterday) and reading Preacher for the first time. Between the two of them it’s almost too much awesome for one guy to handle, lucky for me I have that capacity.

Once I watch the five episodes of The Shield that have already aired this year I’ll be all caught up in the intriguing tail of Detective Mackie, one of the most interesting characters I’ve ever spent time with. The show constantly surprises me with what it puts these characters through.

As for Preacher, Christ Almighty that book is good. The first trade volume was pretty cool but this second one that I’m in the middle of now is really making clear why this series has such a great reputation. It’s dark, funny and daring, three qualities that I can always get behind in graphic novels.

So, What’cha Been Playing?

Morgan Webb Belittles Gamers on Tyra Banks Show

by the hammer of Santos Gonzalez!

There is still a big part of the world that see gamers in terms of stereotypes; telling us games are for kids and to grow up. So when you have a mainstream show like “Tyra Banks’ Show” that hosts a couple in which the guy happens to be a gamer, you would think that their “expert” would explain that video games are just a form of entertainment. A gamer is no different then say a movie buff. Now if the “expert” is X-play’s Morgan Webb, you would think that being in the gaming industry would give her a insight. Sadly this was not the case, she put us all into video game stereotypes. Now I remember why I hate X-play.
