New feature time! Instead of taking the standard “review” route for Assassin’s Creed Xav and I decided to have a little conversation about the game via email, and them post the ensuing mayhem up for the world. If you enjoy it, you might just see it pop up from time to time!

We’ve split it into two parts, one today and the other on Monday. And buyer beware, there’s a minor “spoiler” in here… but it’s something that happens 5 minutes into the game so we’re not really spoiling anything… And if you’re on the fence about the game, you probably oughta know this ahead of time to help make a decision.

I have to admit (and I don’t think I’m alone here) that my excitement for this title has definitely tapered off from the crazy ZOMG! levels is was a few months back. No matter how many times I see that sci-fi stuff in the game, it just doesn’t look right. It’s disappointing that the game doesn’t look like it’s gonna take place in that time period.

That all being said I still can’t wait to play it, the expectations are still high for me.

When thinking about Assassin’s Creed I’ve gone from Fanboy nergasm to cautiously optimistic. I’m still hoping for a great game, but my enthusiasm has been tempered but this “futuristic” angle they seem to be taking.

It’s still gorgeous to look at, and if the gameplay pans out could be a great experience. I just wish the Matrix shit wasn’t in there.

Jade Raymond gave a little interview during TGS and discussed the cities, viewpoints and achievements. Please let this game be all it can be.

Thumbing through the new issue of Toyfare I noticed this picture tucked down in the corner of a page talking about the new Castlevania figures. It’s Altair from the hyped game from Ubisoft. To be honest this might be the 1st time we’ve gotten a really good look at his face.

No word on accessories but hopefully it’s not a bunch of futuristic crap that makes the game seem even more Matrix-ish. I just want to see some retractable blade type thing for his arm.

No final price yet, but it’s being done by NECA and it’ll be out in November.

We all remember the controversy with UbiSoft Assassin’s Creed’s exclusivity. First it was shown off as an Xbox 360 title as Assassin at the X05 event and later confirmed only as a PlayStation 3 title. After, what was known as the worst kept secret in the biz, the Xbox 360 and PC versions were confirmed the question lingered; is there a difference between the console versions?

It’s cosplay time again kids! After passing through hordes of overdone (but well done) Final Fantasy costumes, I spotted a slick new character the kids are going for.

While making my way to the media center at the FanExpo in Toronto, Ontario, I passed by a dedicated UbiSoft fanatic decked out as the upcoming Assassin’s Creed protagonist, Altaïr. After I picked up my badge and press kit I ran back to chat with him but he, ironically, disappeared.

Luckily, later in the evening I spotted him again and snapped a picture of his well designed costume.

Assassin’s Creed fever has spread around the office and it looks like we’re not the only one anticipating the November, UbiSoft Montreal, release.

This is Jeff (and hell if he doesn’t have the pose down), he likes to pretend he’s a killer… I guess that means Assassin’s Creed is a murder trainer, someone alert Jacky T!

I’m impressed. It’s the total opposite of what you want in your Guitar Hero/Rock Band track list, but there’s some damn fantastic songs in here. Joplin, Cash, Gaye, Marley, Dylan? Hell even the Jackson 5! Playing your own made up stuff is probably this game’s bread and butter but it’s good to know there’s some solid in-game music as well.
