That's right kiddies, you're favorite show is back from the dead and on the air! We're like The New WKRP, only with less Howard Hesseman and more Gordon Jump.
It's been awhile since we did one of these, so pardon the awkward sounds of our getting re-acquainted with podcasting.
This week we talk about:
Where We've Been/A Glimpse Behind the Scenes (Start - 16:15)
What'cha Been Playing (16:16 - 35:20)
The Rebirth of Adventure Games (35:21 - 46:48)
The Death of Music Games (46:49 - 1:08:40)
Hidden track/On the Merits of Mullets (1:08:41 - End)
We're slowing rebuilding the show, so expect links to a new Skype voicemail box and other fun stuff soon. We're also experimenting with the idea of an enhanced podcast, but that would mean making the show unlistenable to those with iTunes and/or an iPod. What do you think? If we created a separate bitcast feed in iTunes to offer an enhanced podcast in addition to the regular one, would you listen?
Like I said -- we're rebuilding. If you have any ideas or suggestions of what you'd like to hear on the show, please let us know!
#75 should definitely be on iTunes soon. We're actually trying to figure out why it's not yet. Don't worry - we'll get it resolved. #74 is available on the site -- not sure why it didn't get to iTunes either.. hrmm.. was really just a placeholder episode. you didn't miss much.
An enhanced podcast allows for chapter breaks so you can skip to sections you want to hear, uses different graphics for each, and allows us to insert links you can click on to see relevant material while you're listening. The downside is it only works on Apple products -- iTunes on your desktop, iPod's on the go.
Is there enough interest out there from Apple-user's to warrant creating an enhanced version of each episode in addition to the "standard def" cut we're all used to?

Boo to Apple-only Bitcast!!! Proprietary formats suck, as do elitist Apple fans. Keep the internet open!!! Break the sour-apple chains of corporate interests and produce a Bitcast we can all listen to on our new open-souce Android phones!!!
This comment is completely bias-free.

Firstly, it was fantastic to hear the bitcast again, i didn't realise how much i missed it till it came back.
In terms of 'Enhaced' podcasts, I wouldn't be at all fussed as i always listen to my podcasts on the go. As long as i can do that though, i wouldn't really care how you put it out.
I Noticed the podcast didn't come through on the RSS feed for the podcasts either, odd?
If we decide to do the other version of the bitcast with chapter stops and whatnot (I'm loathe to refer to it as "enhanced") it won't be at the expense of the regular one. I for one listen to all my podcasts in the car so I couldn't give two flips about those extra features, so I promise you the plain jane bitcast will always be available in mp3 format so you can play it on anything.
Glad to see people happy about us being back, leave us a review in itunes to try and push us up in the system!...
